CARI Project II
Challenge
CARI was commissioned to significantly improve the livelihood of smallholder rice farmers by increasing the competitiveness of domestic rice supply and to meet increasing regional demands.
Approach
The CARI II project objectives are: Increased experience sharing amongst actors of the rice value chain, sustainably improved inclusive business relationships, improved access to financial services for actors of the rice value chain and improved policy framework for rice value chain. For MFCL to explore the CARI II objectives the preparation of a business plan for tapping the CARI II’s objectives is necessary and reasonable.
Solution
CARI II phase runs from 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2021. However, in Tanzania the project will run for two years (1 July 2018 to 30 June 2021) with an aim of increasing the incomes of more than 20,000 smallholder rice farmers.
